In industrial environments or soils with high chemical activity, ordinary concrete decomposes. Special concretes of this category are designed to withstand sulfates, acids, groundwater and industrial waste.

- C30/37 XA1: It is applied to foundations and technical works located in environments with weak chemical corrosion, such as soils with sulfate salts or sewage plants. The C28/35 strength combined with the XA1 category ensures that the concrete has the necessary density and composition (often with special cement) to resist chemical decomposition of its mass and protect the reinforcement over time.
- C30/37 XA2: It is applied to foundations and industrial projects that come into contact with moderate chemical corrosion, such as soils with high sulfate concentrations or biological treatment plants. The increased strength C30/37 and the special XA2 composition (using specialized sulfate-resistant cement, e.g. CEM III) are necessary to ensure the long-term resistance of the concrete mass against chemical decomposition.
- C35/45 XA3: It is applied in industrial projects and foundations exposed to strong chemical corrosion, such as tanks of strong chemicals, biological treatment points with aggressive wastewater or soils with extreme levels of sulfates. The very high strength C35/45 and the XA3 class require the use of specialized cement types (such as CEM III or CEM V) and low water to cement ratios, in order to ensure the long-term integrity of the concrete mass against chemical decomposition.
